Biography
Charles R. (Jake) Paul, Jr. was admitted to the bar in 1976,. Jake has worked as a general practitioner at Paul, Fleming, and Paul, then Paul and Paul, in Geneva, AL, a legal assistant for Ludlum Law Offices, a social security disability law firm. Since November 2012, Jake has been representing clients in Bankruptcy Court for Law Offices of Rafael Gil III, P.C., writing wills and deeds, administering wills and estates, and obtaining uncontested divorces.
Jake was born in Geneva, Alabama, graduated from Dartmouth College in 1971 with a major in History,and a minor in French, and served two years in the U.S. Navy with the Naval Material Command Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Following a Juris Doctor from University of Alabama School of Law in 1976, where he focused on taxation and estate planning, Jake attended Portland State University School of Urban Affairs where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Urban Planning in 1980. Jake has worked for Portland, OR, land use lawyer Diane Spies to resolve an injunction in Columbia County, OR, following experience as a planner in Multnomah County, OR, and as a planning coordinator for Yamhill County, in McMinnville, OR. Upon returning to Alabama, Jake worked for Wainwright Planning, an Airport Noise Planning firm in Montgomery, AL, before joining his deceased father's practice in Geneva, AL, where he taught French on his lunch hour for several years. Jake renewed his planning skills as a planning coordinator/reviewer for St. Johns River Water Management District in Palatka, FL. Jake has been a member of the Alabama Bar since 1976.
